About Me

Since the year 2000, Daimon Xanthopoulos has dedicated himself to documenting the stories he believes need to be told. Photography is a unique way to communicate because it’s not bound by language, he says, allowing him to focus on social issues, injustice and human rights, and the plight of people, especially children, in the aftermath of conflict. It can be disturbing, bearing witness; Daimon’s work often elicits an emotional response, but at the same time it can be artistically beautiful. “In my work,” he explains, “I always try to combine these elements and so connect people to the themes I visualise.”

Daimon’s stories can be found in a wide variety of media both in print and online, as well as TV and exhibitions. He says he likes to combine photography with film and audio to produce stories across different media channels. These channels then act as “an engine to reach a larger audience,” he adds, “and to deepen the stories I want to tell.”

"I love the fact I can shoot both high-quality video and photography in a compact system. Panasonic’s LUMIX products give me the freedom to focus on the story, not on the equipment I require."
