The pilgrim

After 5-6 trips to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, I was beginning to get a little frustrated. Online I had seen images of pilgrims from across the world, in person I saw American and Russian tourists with their baseball caps. Fortunately I came across this amazing pilgrim from Ethiopia, as soon as I saw him I knew I had to photograph him. Despite a language barrier and my lack of confidence in asking people for portraits (I don't think this ever gets easier) I managed to capture this image of him next to the candles of one of the upper praying areas.
