The Shepherd family

Whilst spending a few days on the summer pastures around Song Kul, I stayed with a few shepherd families in their yurts. This image was taken in the morning whilst breakfast was being prepared. As the stove was lit and the smoke and steam rose, it created this awesome beam of light from a small hole in felt that covered the side of the yurt. It was just a matter of waiting for the right moment when the light and the subject interacted in an interesting way
