"Two-banded chameleon (Furcifer balteastus) is endemic to southeast Madagascar.

Listed as Endangered on the basis that this species has an estimated extent of occurrence of 1,971 km², it is presumed to occur as a severely fragmented population, and there is a continuing decline in the extent and quality of lowland forest habitat throughout its known range. (Source IUCN)"
